Lichtenburg Dierewelsyn exists to give lost, abandoned, and abused dogs and cats a second chance at life. Our work happens on several fronts, every single day.

🐾 Rescue
Our volunteers actively go out to save dogs and cats found in the streets of Lichtenburg — bringing them into our care when they have nowhere else to turn.

🏥 Medical Care
Every animal that comes to us receives the medical attention they need, from basic health checks to ongoing treatment, sterilisation, and vaccination.

💊 Community Outreach
Beyond our shelter walls, we reach out into areas where people and their animals are in need — providing medication and support to pets who wouldn't otherwise receive care.

🏠 Shelter & Daily Care
Our full-time staff work throughout the week to feed, clean, and care for every animal in our shelter. On weekends, our dedicated volunteers step in — cleaning kennels, feeding, and making sure every dog and cat gets time to run, play, and simply be with people. That interaction matters as much as the food and shelter itself.

Every part of what we do is driven by one belief: every animal deserves care, comfort, and the chance at a better life.
